In February of 2005, the world of the interwebs was forever changed. Three former PayPal employees banded together to birth a beautiful internet love child. Internet-goers could watch clips of their favorite movies, creative vlogs and webseries, or a walrus playing a saxophone, all on one website. In February of 2005, YouTube was born.
Because it has given birth to so many badasses of the internet, YouTube itself is a badass. Founded only half a decade ago, Chad Hurley, Steve Chen, and Jawed Karim came up with the idea for the website when they had trouble uploading their own videos onto the internet for their friends to see. Now, over five years later, YouTube has become a breeding ground of badass. It has been the cause of countless hours spent staring at the computer screen when I should be studying. But you know what? Fuck studying. I’d rather watch a video of a panda on a slide.

Most importantly, YouTube has been an outlet for the geekiest of the geeks. For example, have you ever heard of a song about sex that uses every name of the original 151 Pokémon as sexual innuendos? It’s glorious.

And of course, what would the internet be without ridiculous viral videos?

The creation of YouTube led to the creation of countless badasses. It’s like YouTube is simply a breeder of the badass. Because of this, this absolutely glorious website takes the title for this week’s BAotW. It’s not a person, so you say it can’t have the title? Bite me.
Have a good idea for a BAotW, or wanna show off a pretty badass YouTube video? Let us know in the comments!
